I love this time of the year

I love field day! At least at the school my kids are at now. In the brighton schools, all the kids get ribbons for every event no matter what. I don't like that. I think the kids need to learn to work hard and EARN their ribbons. My kids did really well.

Christopher won 2nd place in the jump rope contest. 2nd place in the three legged race and 3rd place in the long jump. I was so proud of him. He never gave up or got discouraged when he didn't win one of the races. He just kept at it and it payed off. Good job Christopher!

Adam won 2nd place in the three legged race as well. He really tried hard and he was so proud of himself. He tends to get discouraged easily but he kept at it this day. He also did well in another race where you had to run down to the end with a balloon, sit on it and pop it and then run back. He was the second one to reach the end and pop his balloon but he forgot he had to run back so it put him behind. But he had fun.

Sarah is not the kind of girl to enjoy any kind of sports. She loves to sing and dance and take care of babies. But I think she had a good time. I left before she did her last two races because I had already been in the sun for 3 1/2 hours. I shouldn't have left because she also took 2nd place in the three legged race.
I put this picture up because that is what I had. It was fun watching her do this one. Her hair was bouncing up and down and she was having a good time. I'm glad that this school makes the kids earn their ribbons. Now they all want to practice throughout the year so they can earn more ribbons next year. I'm proud of them for giving it their all.

Congrats to your kids! I, too, love this time of year, and truly appreciate it. There is so much to do outside!

I agree, it's great when they earn the awards instead of everyone getting one just because. Sounds like it was a lot of fun for everyone!
